Its main functions include the following:
• Protecting the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese nationals in the UAE.
• Furthering the development of commercial, economic, cultural and scientific relations between Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.
• Understanding of the culture of the United Arab Emirates, in addition to its commercial, economic and scientific aspects and their development.
• Issuing passports and travel documents to Lebanese citizens and Palestinian refugees, and visas or appropriate documents to persons wishing to travel to Lebanon.
• Helping and assisting Lebanese, both individuals and bodies corporate.
• Acting as notary and civil registrar and in capacities of a similar kind, and performing certain functions of an administrative nature.
• Safeguarding the interests of the Lebanese, both individuals and bodies corporate, in cases of succession mortis causa in the territory of the United Arab Emirates, in accordance with the laws and regulations of the United Arab Emirates.
• Safeguarding the interests of minors and other persons lacking full capacity who are nationals of Lebanon particularly where any guardianship or trusteeship is required with respect to such persons.
• Representing or arranging appropriate representation for Lebanese before the tribunals and other authorities of the United Arab Emirates, for the purpose of obtaining, in accordance with the laws and regulations of the United Arab Emirates, provisional measures for the preservation of the rights and interests of these Lebanese.
• Transmitting judicial and extrajudicial documents or executing letters rogatory or commissions to take evidence for the courts of Lebanon.
• Performing any other functions entrusted to a consular post by Lebanon which are not prohibited by the laws and regulations of the United Arab Emirates.
